The Hirtzel Memorial Foundation is a charitable trust and private foundation that supports worthy charitable activities in North East Borough, North East Township, Harborcreek Township and Greenfield Township in Erie County, Pennsylvania, as well as the Town of Ripley, in Chautauqua County, New York.

Educational Scholarships

The Foundation offers undergraduate scholarships and graduate level health-care related scholarships for qualified individuals who reside within The Foundation’s footprint as dictated by The Foundation Deed of Trust.  For more information and details, please see the FAQs page and services page.

Medical Grants

In addition to educational scholarships, The Foundation offers grants to 501(c)3 organizations that support healthcare services and encourage scientific and medical research conducted at colleges, universities, hospitals and similar facilities in Western Pennsylvania, Western New York, and Northern Ohio.

Community Grants

The Foundation also offers community grants for 501(c)3 non-profit organizations for projects in support of public parks, libraries, social and public services, enhancement of local government and public school districts, historical preservation, private colleges and universities, and volunteer fire companies.
